The Santa Fe High School Symphonic Band also has a long tradition of excellence.  There is one band class at the school which serves students in all grades and of all ability levels.  This sometimes makes programming difficult, however, through hard work, the band consistently performs classic and modern band literature of considerable difficulty.  The Symphonic Band has nearly consistently received Superior ratings at District Concert MPA (Music Performance Assessment) for the past 20 years.  The Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA) requires Santa Fe to play Grade 3 music, though the band regularly performs Grade 4, 5, and even occasionally Grade 6 music.  The band is a 7-time recipient of FBA’s Otto J. Kraushaar Award for receiving all Superior ratings at District and State MPAs for a full school year, most recently in 2013.
